Located on Harmony Crescent to the north of the Providence Land Sales and Community Centre and the popular Splash n’ Play, the off-leash areas cover about 2,500 square metres and feature generous open spaces and a number of new dog-friendly features.
The off-leash dog areas are separated into two different spaces; one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. These areas also includes canine agility equipment and a sheltered area where owners can watch over their pets in comfort.
Providence First Dog Park was opened on Saturday 9th November, 2019 by two local community members Rhonda Lock and Meg Saunderson. The dog park opening was a joint event with Ipswich District Crime Prevention Unit with Ipswich District Dog Squad and Railway Squad Crime Prevention and Volunteers in Policing hosting the fourth annual Dogs on Patrol event. Thanks also to Ripley Vet, Ipswich Dog Obedience, Thumping Tails, Novella Photography and Got Soul for supporting the event. Please see pics from the opening below.
