Masterplan

Providence is the largest new residential community within the Ripley Valley. Stretching over 670-hectares, it is a master-planned community that when completed, 20,000 people will call home. On completion, it will comprise of:

  • 7000 homes
  • Two high schools and two primary schools
  • Major sport grounds
  • Retail and dining

  • A health and wellbeing hub

  • 200ha of parkland and reserves

From the beginning, future residents and community leaders were asked what they most wanted to see in the community. Top of the list was green open space and the ability to live an active lifestyle. The result is that 30% of Providence is dedicated to green open space – featuring leisure and play space, nature reserves and sporting fields. But that is just the beginning of the wonderful facilities planned for Providence.

Boasting the largest area of parklands and active recreational space in the region, Providence brings people home to a natural environment and connected community.

Providence Master Plan

Behind the Scenes

Providence is the masterwork of the pioneering Shephard family and Okeland Communities (formally Amex Corporation).  Founded in Perth by David Shephard in 1987, today Okeland Communities is led by his sons Adam and Cameron. With 25 years on-the-ground experience in Queensland, Amex has an impressive track record of achievement including the creation of a dozen sustainable new communities across Australia.

You’ll see the Shephard ‘family touch’ shine through in every community-first detail in Providence.  Adam and Cameron are very hands on and you’ll often find them out at Providence.  One of the events they look forward to the most each year is the Providence Community Recognition night.  This is held in May around national volunteer week and it is an opportunity for the owners to share a meal with the people who call Providence home and to recognise their achievements.

You can find out more about the Shephard Family here.

Providence Vision

A commitment to creating places throughout the community that genuinely engage residents. Fostering a ‘contemporary valley village’ ambience, through capturing the essence of a relaxed, friendly and safe community.

Boasting the largest area of parklands and active recreational space in the region, Providence brings people home to a natural environment where being active is second nature.
Providence embraces community feedback in its evolution, with the residents contributing as place-shapers, with housing options and facilities designed to respond to the changing needs of the community.

Connected walkable neighbourhoods, NBN for internet speed, community connections, events and neighbourhood services. Centrally located for great connections to Greater Springfield and Ipswich.

This video was created in 2014 before any homes were built at Providence.  It is an old video but it shows that we have always had the community at the centre of the vision for Providence and we have never faltered from this path.
